Siemens comes on board as the latest ATC member

The American-Turkish Council (ATC) is proud to announce that Siemens is our newest Bosphorus Member. Siemens, a German-based company engineering company, has deep business ties in the U.S. and Turkey. As one of Europe’s largest companies, Siemen’s is a part of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index. Most recently, Siemens made headlines for its plans to construct a EUR 30 million tram factory in the Gebze district of Kocaeli near Istanbul, which it will use as a regional hub. The factory will open in 2017 and employ approximately 300 people. The company also plans to invest in an Istanbul-based R&D center to develop and engineer mobility solutions.

The ATC is strongly looking forward to working closely with Siemens on their efforts to further invest in the Turkish market. Siemens’ aggressive investment in Turkey comes at an exciting time as the country is pouring money into R&D, light rail, and high-speed railway systems.
