The American-Turkish Council (ATC) is putting the finishing touches on the U.S.-Turkey investment Partnership Summit, scheduled for February 24th at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, DC. The day-long event promises to be an energetic, engaging look at the opportunities and challenges confronting U.S.-Turkey partnerships and bilateral investment. The Summit will incorporate five engaging “Davos-style” roundtable discussions featuring top experts in foreign investment, legal and compliance matters, and third-party markets; a Luncheon featuring keynote remarks by U.S. Trade and Development Agency Director, Leocadia Zak; and an exclusive Networking Reception in an effort to facilitate the bilateral business ties.
The roundtable moderators and discussants feature top experts and leaders from the private sector, government, the nonprofit sector, and academia. Participant companies and organizations include the U.S. Department of Commerce, FNSS, TÜSİAD, Capitalinka, Transnational Strategy Group, Beyazit Consulting Services, George Washington University, APCO, Herrick & Feinstein, Herdem Law Firm, Expertera, George Mason University, Baker Donelson, Jones Group International, Fox News, The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), Middle Bridge Partners, Drexel University, Kurdistan Regional Government – Iraq, and SelectUSA. Discussants also include former State Department Spokesperson named by The Atlantic as one of 21 Brave Thinkers of 2011, P.J. Crowley; President of the National Iranian American Council and 2010 recipient of the Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order, Dr. Trita Parsi; and Founder and Managing Partner of Middle Bridge partners, Omer Er.
The ATC will also release a report, titled Restart and Renewal: Taking U.S.-Turkish Trade to $50 Billion by 2025, which discusses how trade between the U.S. and Turkey could increase from the current figure of USD 15 billion to USD 50 billion by 2025. In addition, the Summit will also host the U.S.-Turkey Business Council Meeting. Organized by the Department of Commerce in 2012, the U.S.-Turkey Business Council convenes senior-level executives from the United States and Turkey, providing policy recommendations to both governments jointly on ways to strengthen bilateral economic relations.
All in all, the Summit is the premier event for all current and potential U.S.-Turkey stakeholders. The roundtable content is essential for companies looking to invest or partner in either country. The Summit will reflect the increasingly dynamic nature of U.S.-Turkey commercial relations, and will provide attendees exceptional access to experts in multiple fields. Sponsoring companies will receive enormous exposure among chief U.S.-Turkey private and public sector stakeholders.
