ATU Duty Free, Turkey’s leading duty free operator chain, has joined the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) and Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) as a Platinum Sponsor of the 34th Annual Conference on U.S.-Turkey Relations. ATUs generous sponsorship of the conference is testimony to their strong support of the U.S.-Turkey relationship.
ATU, established in 2000, now operates over eighty shops at nineteen airports in multiple countries, employing over 1900 people. The company has been a cherished Golden Horn member of the ATC since 2014. Recently, ATU was awarded its first duty free retail concession in the U.S. Their 10-year contract at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas will commence later this year.
ATU is playing an essential role in retail trade, serving as a valuable outlet for local Turkish brands to be discovered by a broader community of travelers. It is precisely this type of work that reinforces U.S.-Turkish ties. The ATC sees significant value in ATUs entrance into the U.S. market and is honored to receive their substantial support for this year’s Annual Conference.
The 34th Annual Conference on U.S.-Turkey Relations now features three Platinum Sponsors in TOBB, SNC, and ATU. In addition, Raytheon has become a Gold Sponsor while companies including BAE Systems, Citi, Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney, Savronik, Nişasta ve Glikoz Üreticileri Derneği (NÜD), and the Turkish Steel Exporters’ Association (CIB), have contributed their support.
Keynote speakers at this year’s Annual Conference will include TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarciklioglu, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce H. Andrews, ATC Chairman General James L. Jones, U.S. Senator and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services John McCain, ISPAT President Arda Ermut, and Commander of the U.S. European Command and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Philip M. Breedlove.
As the 34th Annual Conference approaches, the ATC will continue to provide our members and the general public with regular updates. We are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting conference at a moment of unprecedented potential for an expansion of U.S.-Turkish ties.
