The Turkish Delegation was led by Amb. Mehmet Gucuk, Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and included representatives of the Ministries of Economy; Energy & Natural Resources; Environment & Urbanization; Food, Agriculture & Livestock; Transportation, Maritime & Communication; the Investment Support and Promotion Agency; the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Agency of Turkey; the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization; the Foreign Economic Relations Board; the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and Turkish Eximbank. Asst. Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, The Honorable Jose Fernandez led the U.S. delegation.
Amb. Gucuk and Asst. Secretary Fernandez briefly addressed the guests noting that the meetings were productive focusing on specific areas such as promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, cooperation on SME’s, Intellectual Property rights, as well as expanding cooperation in the energy sector with an emphasis in energy efficiency. They noted that the results reflected the commitment that both countries have to continuing the work to enhance trade and investment between the two countries.
