
William Pegues leads the debt financing of energy and infrastructure projects in emerging and frontier markets at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), which is the development finance institution of the U.S. government. Bill has worked for 25 years in international oil, gas and power financing.
Before joining OPIC in 2011 he spent eleven years with Exxon, Mobil and the merged ExxonMobil Corporation working in megaproject and investment finance in the U.K., Asia, the U.S., and Canada; five years as an independent corporate and project finance consultant in Canada and the U.S.; and two years at the U.S. Department of Energy structuring first-of- a-kind, utility-scale solar power and coal gasification debt financings.
Bill earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois and an MBA in Finance and Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
