Şirin Köprücü is the owner of StrategicStraits, Inc., an international business training and consulting firm in Washington, DC. For over 10 years, she has facilitated programs to help internationally growing clients achieve fast, efficient and lasting growth through the development of a global mindset and effective business skills. Her extensive experience in the international pharmaceutical and health communications industries has proven beneficial to clients such as SPX Corporation, Novartis, Hilton Worldwide, Ketchum, Arnold Porter LLP, the American Turkish Council (ATC), Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Entrepreneurs Organization, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Association of School Business Officials International, International Movers Association, and the Cold Chain Alliance. In a recent project she was responsible for facilitating intercultural relationships and working with a global mindset during a merger between the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association. She trained all employees in both organizations and coached senior executives to work well and strategically together. Şirin assisted the American Turkish Council in developing an innovation and growth system to help grow the U.S. – Turkey economic relationship in light of new trends and an appreciation of two diverse cultures.
Şirin is certified to debrief the Global Mindset Inventory® developed by Thunderbird School of Global Management, the Global Leadership and Team Assessments as well as the GlobeSmart Profile by Aperian Global, and designs customized programs to develop Global Mindset® skills including culture-specific awareness sessions utilizing the GlobeSmart® tool. Şirin also applies the Global Mindset to new product development and business growth. She is a contributor to “Developing Your Global Mindset – The Handbook for Successful Global Leaders”, the first practical handbook published by Thunderbird School in 2013 and facilitates various business courses in the Online Executive Education Program of the School. Şirin has served as an International Section Council member at the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), a judge in the annual George Washington University School of Business Intramural MBA Case Competition, and continues her volunteer efforts as a board and executive committee member at the ATC and the founding chair of the Global Friends at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Şirin has been communicating and working with individuals from various cultural origins for over 30 years. She has lived and worked in Turkey, the UK, Switzerland, and Germany.
