
Jeffrey J. Schloesser
Jeffrey J. Schloesser is Strategic Vice President at Sierra Nevada Corporation. A retired US Army Major General and former President of AAR’s Airlift Group, he has been a consultant to governmental agencies and businesses seeking expertise in Defense and National Security Affairs, Aviation, Counter Terrorism, and Strategic Planning.
MG Schloesser led AAR Airlift, an expeditionary airline and aviation services company, from 2010-2012, during which AAR Airlift revenues grew by 55% while rebranding, renaming, and relocating the company. In 2012, he founded Jeff Schloesser Consulting, LLC.
MG Schloesser’s distinguished military career spanned 34 years. He served as Commanding General, 101st Airborne Division and Regional Command-East in Afghanistan for 15 months; in 2003-2004, he was Assistant Division Commander of the 101st Airborne Division in Iraq. He was Deputy Director of the National Counter Terrorism Center, establishing the first “whole of government” Strategic Operational Planning Division responsible for strategy, planning and coordination of the US war against terrorism. He was also the first director of the War on Terror planning cell within the Department of Defense after 9/11. In earlier assignments, he led two Army Special Operations Aviation Battalions, served at the US Department of State and two Middle East embassies, including as Chief, Office of Military Cooperation, Kuwait. Prior to retirement, he was Director of Army Aviation, leading the U.S. Army Aviation’s $6 billion annual modernization and transformation plan.
MG Schloesser is a graduate of the University of Kansas; he received a Master’s of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and was a National Security Fellow at the J.F.K School of Government, Harvard University. Most recently, he attended Wharton School’s Executive Education Program.
