The American-Turkish Council is thrilled to lead the Midwest Manufacturing Trade Mission to U.S. The mission will be led by ATC’s Vice Chairman, Tamer Saka, and the dates are set for September 5-8, 2017. The trade mission will include stops in St. Louis, Indianapolis, Detroit, and Chicago, and participants will benefit from networking opportunities, state level government engagements, featured site visits, and targeted meetings with government and project management officials.

Dr. Tamer Saka, CEO of Kibar Group

Tamer Saka serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Kibar Group, a position he has held since January 2014. Mr. Saka has also been a Board Member of the Group since May 2012. He joined Kibar in 2011 as a Strategy and Business Development Coordinator and was then assigned as the Head of the Automotive and Corporate Functions.

Mr. Saka started his career at Arthur Andersen and move onto Ernst & Young, holding Manager and the Senior Manager positions over the course of his career. In 2004, he became a Risk Management Director at Sabancı Holding with the goal of establishing the first Risk Management Directorate functions in Turkey. Mr. Saka also served as a Board Member and an Audit Committee Member at Aksigorta, TURSA - Sabancı Enternasyonel Otelcilik, Ankara Enternasyonel and ADVANSA - SASA Polyester Sanayi. After his tenure at Sabancı Holding, Mr. Saka took on the position of Managing Director responsible for business development in approximately 20 countries, including Turkey, at Willis London, between the years of 2010-2011.

Mr. Saka received his Bachelors, Masters and PhD Degrees in Business at Istanbul University.

Active in the global & Turkish business community, Mr. Saka has been a fellow of the Corporate Governance Association as Director, and the President of the TUSIAD Risk Management Working Group between 2009-2010, the Founding President of the Corporate Risk Management Association between 2009 - 2010; and represented Turkey in the Board of Directors of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations in the year 2010.

Tamer Saka became the Vice Chairman of ATC (American-Turkish Council) in November 2016. Mr. Saka sees Turkey – US relations at strategic level which also affects Turkey's global outlook; strong and resilient relations position Turkey at a higher place and contribute to regional security and economic prosperity.

Introduction to Local Government Officials

ATC will arrange meetings with the Economic Development Offices in each state for the delegation to learn about their unique business climate and understand the incentives for Foreign Direct Investment.

B2B Meetings with Local Companies

Trip delegates will travel to 4 cities and attend pre-scheduled meetings, meet with potential trade partners, end users to understand the business environment in U.S.
