Mission Statement
A Business Association dedicated to enhancing the promotion of US-Turkish Commercial, Defense, Technology and Cultural Relations.
Overview
As one of the leading business associations in the United States, American Turkish Council (ATC) is dedicated to effectively strengthening US-Turkish relations through the promotion of commercial, defense, technology and cultural relations. Its diverse membership includes Fortune 500, US and Turkish companies, multinationals, nonprofit organizations and individuals with an interest in US-Turkish relations. Guided by member interests, ATC strives to enhance the growing ties between the US and Turkey by initiating and facilitating efforts to increase investment and trade between the two countries.
Goals of American-Turkish Council
• To help resolve problems and disputes that affect US-Turkish commercial, defense and cultural relations.
• To encourage trade and investment between the United States and Turkey.
• To educate the public and private sectors on the importance of the strategic alliance between the United States and Turkey.
• To increase the understanding and appreciation of the history, culture and traditions of the United States and Turkey.
• To promote awareness of US-Turkish issues.
• To facilitate dialogue between the government agencies of both Turkey and the United States and the private sector.
TURKISH-U.S. BUSINESS COUNCIL (DEIK/TAIK)
Vision & MissionTAIK’ s vision is primarily to increase the volume of Turkey-US trade (as a minimum to Turkey-EU level), to be recognized as the source of information and networking on bilateral issues for both Turkish and US companies and to assist US companies to view Turkey as a key partner and destination for direct investments in the region.
TAIK subsequently operates with a mission to create platforms to facilitate the development of commercial and trade relations through its range of activities. With its broad range of activities that it undertakes and its wide-ranging international links, TAIK has set precedent to other organizations, in pursuit of similar goals.
Its Executive Committee is represented by the top-level executives of the leading companies in Turkey. Since its establishment, prominent names such as Ersin Faralyalı, Sedat Aloglu, Mustafa Koc, Akin Ongor, Dr. Vural Akisik and Dr. Yilmaz Arguden have chaired the Business Council.
Objectives
• To encourage business development, to improve the conditions for bilateral trade, foreign direct investments, industrial cooperation and joint investments in third countries,
• To research, identify and develop opportunities in key sectors for designated states and cities where possibilities of win-win business development can be pursued,
• To develop the brand identity of Turkey and its key business sectors in the US, by promoting the advantages of Turkey as a place to do business as well as promoting business and cultural tourism,
• To promote U.S. business opportunities in Turkey through a multi-layered communications strategy,
• To coordinate joint efforts to collect, combine, analyze, evaluate and disseminate information relating to trade, investment, industrial and technological cooperation

TRANSPORTATION
From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport:
Located 5 miles outside the city along the Potomac River, a cab ride from National Airport typically takes 20 minutes and will cost approximately $12-15. This airport also is accessible on Metrorail's Yellow and Blue lines and shared ride van service is offered by SuperShuttle for approximately $13 for the first passenger, $8 for each additional.
From Washington Dulles International Airport:
Although only 25 miles from Washington, a cab ride could take up to an hour depending on traffic, and will cost approximately $50 each way. Washington Flyer provides bus service to Metrorail’s West Falls Church station (orange line) for $9 with departures every 45 minutes, and SuperShuttle offers door-to-door service for approximately $26.
From the Baltimore/Washington International Airport:
The ride from this airport is dependent on traffic and may take up to an hour. A taxi will cost approximately $50 one-way. SuperShuttle is available for $31 each way for the first person and $10 for every subsequent passenger. Additionally, there is a BWI Express Metro Bus service to Metrorail’s Greenbelt station (green line) for $3 with departures every 40 minutes and MARC train service to Metrorail’s Union Station (red line) on weekdays for $6.
